LVN Schools – What you want to know
I’m sure you have a lot of questions regarding LVN Schools so let’s try to help you answer some of those. First, you should realize that an LVN School and an LPN program is the same thing. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) are the same, but the terms vary by state. LVN’s are trained to care for patients and treat their basic medical needs.
LVN School Requirements
In order to get into the LVN school of your choice, you should have a high school diploma or GED. The LVN program is normally taught at community colleges or nursing schools in your area. The programs take about 2 years to complete and once you have graduated, you are required to take the NCLEX-PN, which is the national accreditation test that is given to LPN candidates in all states.
School Accreditation
Not all LVN Schools are the same. What does that mean? Well, when you are choosing your school, you need to ensure that the school is recognized by a nationally accreditation agency. Check out the school, check out the accreditation agency. You want to ensure that after graduation your state board will allow you to sit for the NCLEX-PN without more class work.
